Government Working On Next Stimulus Package: Report

The development comes five months after the government rolled out the first stimulus package, called Aatmnirbhar Bharat, to support the economy against the damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic-related nationwide lockdown. That package included monetary and fiscal support worth Rs 21 lakh crore, which the government said was equivalent to 10 per cent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP). -

Share Market Updates: Sensex Gives Up Day's Gains Amid Selloff In Consumer Goods, Pharma Shares
Wednesday October 21, 2020Domestic share markets gave up all of the day's gains in a volatile session on Wednesday, despite renewed optimism in broader Asian markets on hopes for more stimulus in the world's largest economy. The S&P BSE Sensex index slumped 825.54 points from the day's highest level to hit 40,150.48 on the downside in late afternoon deals. The broader NSE Nifty 50 benchmark slid to as low as 11,775.75, having earlier risen to as high as 12,018.65. A selloff in consumer goods, automobile and select financial shares weighed on the markets, however gains in metal stocks limited the downside.
